Inspired by vintage button cards and working with repetitive units and rhythmical stitched structures, complex framed “tile” embroideries are painstakingly designed and constructed. Through methodical manipulation of colour and of stitch formulas, the intricacies of the work are not immediately evident – only by taking time to look much closer is the intimate detail revealed.
