I was having a conversation with my elderly father over a bowl of noodle soup. He said “my mother never knew what she wanted to do. Just like you”. He still believes that my creative journey is nothing more than a useless hobby. I look down into my bowl and realise, just like the delicate balance between the flavours of the soup and the texture of the noodles, growing up is finding the balance between having so much faith in your path, while maintaining enough space to respect your parents fears and projections. When I was a young girl, my father would take me to eat. Now he’s ageing, I take him. You see, time changes everything. But conversations with my dad over a bowl of noodle soup always stays the same.

From exploring the nooks and crannies of the world through her own experiences as a nomadic traveller, escaping into the inner landscape through meditations and dreams, to finding meaning through contemplation of the seemingly mundane parts of everyday life. She uses all these experiences internally and externally and transforms the into joyful expression whether it be pretty paintings or powerful poetry.
