Featured Artist of The Week: Not Pop!

"NOTPOP explores simple abstract shapes paired with a symphony of bold pop colours. Each bespoke piece breaks the mould of a standard frame, not-conforming to being put in a box, NOTPOP hand makes bespoke frames which wrap the subject matter. Inspiration comes from familiar objects, font and landscapes. Many of the pieces are an interpretation of the Giants Causeway, a landscape from Northern Ireland.

Having previously exhibited character-based paintings in Italy, Amsterdam, London and Dublin, Matthews new alias NOTPOP has been under wraps as he has worked on progressing and perfecting the idea for years, finally launching NOTPOP in October 2021.

Based in Northern Ireland, Matthew works between his studio in Carrickfergus and wood workshop in the Gortin Glens."
